WATCH: Neglected house in Linmeyer

“Does anyone know what is happening with this house on Prince Albert Street. The house is derelict and we now have rats coming onto our property."

RESIDENTS in Prince Albert Street, Linmeyer are concerned about an empty house on their street, which has been like this now for a few months and apart from being unsightly, is becoming a health hazard.

NEGLECTED: The house on Prince Albert Street, Linmeyer which has been empty for some months.

One of the residents who live close to the empty house said, “Does anyone know what is happening with this house on Prince Albert Street. The house is derelict and we now have rats coming onto our property as the garden and pool is not maintained. One evening recently, someone jumped over our back wall, which borders the property and killed my Pekingese dog. Something needs to be done as this house poses a health and security risk to us all.”

ENTRANCE: The outside driveway is becoming overgrown with weeds.

The CHRONICLE contacted the councillor for Ward 56, Michael Crichton, who in turn has contacted the Department of Health to investigate this matter. At this stage, it remains unclear who the homeowner is.
