Oil spillage in Mondeor still not addressed

This is also causing a mess in residents' driveways.

THE CHRONICLE received a complaint recently about an oil spillage from a Pikitup refuse collection truck that had a breakdown in Belvoir Place, Mondeor.

According to an upset resident in Mondeor, the breakdown resulted in the truck causing a major spillage of diesel or oil on Belvoir Place.

“I don’t understand that Pikitup cleans on one side and on the other they cause a major hazardous issue. This is a critical issue and it should have been sorted out ASAP,” said the upset resident. “This is also causing a mess in residents’ driveways.”

The resident reported it to the Mondeor CPF who passed the message on to the Ward 54 councillor, Sergio Dos Santos, who took it up with Pikitup but nothing has been done from their side.

“We as the residents from Belvoir Place, Mondeor want some speedy action taken in the cleaning up of this spillages,” concluded the resident.

According to dos Santos, he received the complaint on December 27, 2017 and followed it up again with Pikitup on December 30, 2017.

Pikitup was contacted for comment but the CHRONICLE received no response.
