A market for the animals

The latest edition of the Weekend Market was all about animals.

A DIFFERENT type of market was held in the south of Johannesburg on November 26.

Weekend Market owner Paulo Calisto decided to change things, and this time the market revolved around animals.

The Weekend Market partnered with animal rescue organisations around Johannesburg to offer animal-related services to locals.

JUST RELAX: A mini bar was available for refreshment.

The aim of the partnership was to celebrate Christmas for animals in November and to ensure shelters are well stocked up for the festive season.

Animal welfare organisations set up stalls offering various services, with vaccinations, minor veterinary care, and chipping and tagging of pets available at reduced rates.

CONCERT: Entertainment galore at the Weekend Market.

Proceeds raised through auctioning off donated items were passed on to various animal welfare charities.

Food stalls and a cocktail bar kept patrons refreshed while enabling them to spend time with their furry friends.

RELAX: A relaxed Sunday for a man and his best friend.

Calisto invites all who love a relaxed Saturday or Sunday afternoon to come to the Weekend Market, which takes place on the corner of Nasrec and Rifle Range roads in Ridgeway every weekend.

LOOKING AROUND: Others came for a stroll at the market.
KIDS: Children enjoyed some time in the pool area.
