Seniors of the South enjoy Christmas breakfast
The Seniors on the go team all enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast at the Columbine Spur.
SENIORS on the go hosted its Christmas close-up breakfast at the Golden Falls Spur in Columbine Square and it was a festive morning for all.
About 100 seniors gathered on November 21 to enjoy a beautiful morning surrounded by friends.
The elderly and hip seniors of the South filled Columbine Spur with lots of laughter and Christmas cheer. Men and women all wore red and white or Christmas colours.
“This is the second breakfast that I am attending and I love it! This is so much fun and the group of people are just simply amazing. It’s good to see many people after many years. The staff of Spur is just simply amazing and we take our hats off to our supporters like Dischem, Sasol garage and especially Michelle Pelser who has a heart of gold,” said Reinet Groves.
The seniors were all seated and socialising over a pot of tea or some coffee and breakfast was served at around 10am. Gifts were handed out to each person in the spirit of Christmas. Seniors were asked to bring a gift and it was placed under a Christmas tree at the Spur. At the end of the breakfast, each one randomly received a gift.
“I attend the seniors’ meetings every Wednesday. I attend the gym, knit and support many local charities so I am always busy. I live for the moment because no one knows what tomorrow will hold,” said Pam Lyons.
Some of the sponsors for the breakfast were Nativa, Dischem Mondeor, Hollard, Cresta Consultanta, Wow 4 U Events, Sasol, Golden Falls Spur and Custom Creations. Sassa was also present at the breakfast. Seniors on the go will resume on the third Tuesday of February.
