JAM Youth Conference off the chain

If young people arrived feeling down, they certainly left feeling uplifted and ready to face their challenges head on.

TO say that the Winds of Change Church JAM Youth Conference was off the chain would be cheesy, but no one can deny that chains fell off many young people at this year’s conference called ‘Unchained’.

In only its second year of hosting such a conference, it has to be the best one yet. Young people from all walks of life gathered together for a common cause, namely to bring glory to God. Guest speakers for the day included Winds of Change Church associate Pastor Leo Kirsten, Jesus and Me (Jam) youth leader Taguta Dube and Pastor Ashley Augustine of Liberty Church.

Much fun was had and awesome prizes were won. If young people arrived feeling down, they certainly left feeling uplifted and ready to face their challenges head on. The Jesus and Me group cannot wait for next year’s conference entitled, Rooted.

Hosting an event of this magnitude has been a dream of Winds of Change Church’s senior Pastors Jerome and Estrelita Damons for a long time and to see the fruits thereof, is simply credit and glory to God.

Jesus and Me members meets every Friday evening at the Winds of Change Church at 7pm until 9pm. Teens from Grade Seven to Grade 12 are most welcome. The environment is safe, the atmosphere is electric and the word that is preached is the uncompromising truth!
