Kids of the South fashion show was adorable

Funky music was playing while the girls strutted their stuff with sassy attitudes.

Mall of the South hosted the Kids of the South Fashion Event where girls from ages three to 12 strutted their stuff in front of a big audience on September 30.

The event took place at the Platinum Court of the mall. Two live appearances from the music group FEVER, as well as the presence of a well-known local public figure, Stacey Norman, brought priceless joy and excitement to the occasion.

It was a day of fun and entertainment for young and old. There was a big crowd and eight celebrity judges. The judges included Nicci Hattingh, Lesedi Hlatyway, Jacinda Louw-Schutte, Adele Watridge, Wendy van Zyl, Dunay Nortjé, Anzelle van Staden and Keagan Chapman.

SHY LITTLE TULIP: This cute little flower, Mienke Scheepers, walked with her mummy because she was oh-so-shy.

Funky music was playing while the girls (especially the little ones) strutted their stuff with sassy attitudes in clothes sponsored by various tenants of the mall. The crowd loved it and could barely stop clapping and cheering! All in all, there were three different age groups of Top 10’s who participated.

The first group, ages three to five, included Mienke Scheepers, Lethabo Mpopo, Mikayla Scheepers, Bontle Mofolo, Gia Jardim, Gabriella Savva, Aaliyah Padayachee, Ziyanda Bila, Lané Meyer and Gianna Paul. Gia Jardim was crowned the winner of this group.

PROUD MOM: A mother of one of the models proudly takes photos of her little cutie pie.

The second group, ages six to eight, included Zama Dlamini, Christina Kalogiannis, Thato Nhlegethwa, Marnel Meyer, Chané Burt, Marli du Plessis, Bonolo Ramela, Karla Botha, Enkosi Ndlovu and Béna Lucas. Enkosi Ndlovu took home the prize among this age group.

The third and last group, ages nine to 12, included Sinenhlanhla Sithole, Jodrin Feldman, Kayley Seitz, Candice Dube, Cameron Anderson, Lerika Botha, Shazia Dickson, Brooklyn Mills, Ruthlynn Nthangeni and Nicola Mackridge. Cameron Anderson was dubbed the winner of this group.

Mall of the South Centre Management thanks all sponsors and event organisers for their participation and contribution at this year’s Kids of the South Fashion Event and adds that without their dedication and support it wouldn’t have been as successful.

BACKSTAGE: Behind the catwalk, the little models make their final preparations before getting up there and strutting their stuff.
