MTN armed robbery at Mall of the South

The mall’s security was informed of the incident at 09:26am.

Mall of the South Centre Management can confirm that an armed robbery took place at the MTN Store (near Entrance 4) on Sunday, October 1 at 09:05am.

Suspects entered the store posing as delivery staff and informed the staff that an armed robbery was in progress.  The staff members were forced to go to their store room where they were tied up with cable ties. One suspect, wearing the MTN uniform, was standing outside the store as a look out while the other suspects were inside.

The suspects left the store with a delivery trolley with bags on it. The suspects fled the scene in a white Nissan NP200 with canopy with an undisclosed amount of goods.

No shots were fired and no injuries sustained during the robbery.

The mall’s security was informed of the incident at 09:26am.  The South African Police Services (SAPS), Community Policing Forum (CPF) and D&D Tactical were informed immediately. Further investigation is underway.

There is no disruption in the mall; the Mall is trading as normal.
