THE Glenvista Community Policing Forum (CPF) recently posted about the crime trends in Bassonia on its Facebook page.

Bassonia Koppie is experiencing overnight activity especially along Bassroyd Drive, Johannes Meyer and Ouderberg Street. Robberies are occurring mostly between 3am and 4am. There is added policing in this area and the policing forum hopes to make a breakthrough soon. Bassonia residents are urged to ensure that all their security barriers are working overnight.

A number of thefts of motor vehicles and thefts from motor vehicles are increasing on Friday and Saturday afternoons. Residents are urged to be cautious of visitor vehicles or any vehicles parked on the pavements. Businesses in and around the Glenvista Shopping Centre must be cautious on Friday afternoons as this is a hotspot.
