Another armed robbery at NWJ in Mall of the South

SAPS are on scene and are collecting spent cartridges from the scene for evidence.

This morning, July 30, three suspects tried to rob NWJ at the mall. It is believed the Browns Jewellery store pushed their panic as a precaution.

It is believed that one shot was fired and no injuries were reported. An undisclosed amount of money was stolen.

Residents reported seeing three people run out into an awaiting vehicle possibly a white Ford Ikon possibly working with a blue VW Polo.

Mondeor SAPS are on scene and are collecting spent cartridges from the scene for evidence.

Mall of the South statement

Mall of the South Centre Management can confirm that an armed robbery took place at NWJ Fine Jewellery on Sunday, 30 July 2017 at approximately 10h22am.

Perpetrators made off with an undisclosed amount of goods. Mall security immediately responded when the store alerted them of the incident.

One shot was fired.  There were no injuries.

The Mall’s security and the South African Police Services (SAPS) are busy with the investigation.

The Mall is trading as normal.

The safety and security of tenants and shoppers is of utmost importance to Centre Management.
