By the youth for the youth

“Thank you to all those who came out to enjoy their day with us and contributed to the worthy causes we were supporting, which included Need2Read and the Disaster Management Relief Centre. We had fun hosting the event and look forward to doing it again,” said Paula Nogueira.

ON Saturday, June 24, the DA’s CLDP (Constituency Leadership Development Programme) Dynamic Aces team, Paula Nogueira, Sandile Mthonti, Zama Ngwenya and Alberto Brizido, hosted a Youth Event Day at Rietvlei Zoo Farm.

ALL ABOUT FUN: Matt Philip, Sandile Mthonti, Jesse Hanekom, Eddie Moyo, Sarah Wissler, Zama Ngwenya, Chantelle De Sousa and Paula Nogueira.

This was the first time a day such as this was held by CLDP Dynamic Aces Team and they are hoping it will be the first of an annually held event. A treasure hunt proved popular and the children had a fantastic time negotiating the obstacle course.

“Thank you to all those who came out to enjoy their day with us and contributed to the worthy causes we were supporting, which included, Need2Read and the Disaster Management Relief Centre. We had fun hosting the event and look forward to doing it again,” said Paula Nogueira.

She added that without sponsors who donated so generously, the day wouldn’t have been nearly as successful and thanked the following people: Toni Mackrell and her team, Dion and Angel, for the awesome venue and assistance, Pete Wood and Joe from Thumper Events for the great sound and MC work, Fernando dos Ramos from Carlton Butchery for the delicious meat, Rudi from OCT South (Obstacle Course) for opening up the course for some fun competitions, Robert Morley and the ER24 crew, Kibler Park Fire Station fire fighters, Pick n Pay Mulbarton for donating rolls to help feed the children and volunteers, Nelly’s Homemade Products for all the chocolates and sweet treats, Abdur Wholesalers for the refreshments, Abe “Fish Palace”, Wavern Gibson and Sean Brown for videography and photography as well as our youth volunteers Chantelle de Sousa, Eddie Moyo, Jesse Hanekom, Liz Seabra, Matsobane Sekhu, Nandipha and Nangamso Marareni, and Matt Philip for helping setup and manage the day’s events.

SUPPORTING: Paula Nogueira and Sheldon Spear (Need2Read).

“Last but not least, we thank Councillor Sarah Wissler (Ward 23) for being supportive of the Dynamic Aces and helping us to secure some of our service providers. She also contributed to the sweet treats that were dished out to the little people who entered the Treasure Hunt. A big thank you too, to the exhibitors and participants who came out to play,” she added.

ENTERTAINMENT: Joe Tshinabe and Pete Wood.
