Winning with Woman@Work

“John C Maxwell believes that the greatest lessons we learn in life are from our losses. Everyone experiences loss, but not everyone learns from it,” said Debbie.

AT the Woman@Work event on May 31, guest speaker Debbie De Jager was introduced by Toni Mackrell, founder of Woman@Work, who spoke about life lessons and how we can learn from our losses.

“John C Maxwell believes that the greatest lessons we learn in life are from our losses. Everyone experiences loss, but not everyone learns from it,” said Debbie.

In Dr John’s latest book, Sometimes You Win Sometimes You Learn, he explores the most common lessons we learn when we experience loss. He then explains how to turn a setback into a step forward by examining the eleven elements that make up the DNA of those who learn. Learning is not easy during down times; it takes discipline to do the right thing when everything is going wrong. This book provides a road map to doing just that.

The charity of choice for the evening was Remar, headed in Johannesburg by Luis Domingues and Estrella Enebral.

All the women who attended the evening enjoyed networking throughout the evening and a delicious dinner at Glenvista Country Club.
