Social club helps orphanage

The club donated several food items, household materials and cash for the upkeep of children at the centre.

THE United Brothers Social Club, from Winchester Hills, recently visited the Othandweni Orphanage, in Soweto, as part of its annual Easter initiatives.

The club donated several food items, household materials and cash for the upkeep of children at the centre.

The club’s chairman, Jeff Azubuike, thanked the management of the orphanage for ensuring that the 105 children were adequately cared for, especially in this time of economic hardship.

Accepting the items on behalf of the home, the matron on duty, Tjhamaane Shabalala, thanked the United Brothers Social Club for their benevolence and commended them for always coming to the aid of the orphanage in its time of need.The club made similar donations to the orphanage in November, last year.
