South’s own young talent shines

Joburg South has got Talent hosted to encourage, motivate and uplift youth.

THE Joburg South community recently gathered to celebrate the young talent in our community by hosting a “Joburg South Has Got Talent” day on Saturday, May 6, at Rietvlei Zoo Farm.

CUTE: One of the little dancers from The Bush Church dancing on stage.

Hope in Jesus Ministries welcomed the community to a beautiful day in the park to spend with family and enjoy the young talent that Joburg South has to offer.

The Graca Teixeira Drumming Academy kicked off the festivities with numerous performances by the talented children.

YOUNG DANCERS: Children In Action (CIA) children from The Bush Church performing.

The Children in Action (CIA) participants followed shortly thereafter by performing a dance and were joined by all the children at the Zoo Farm.

The aim of this initiative was to raise funds for the Umephi Children’s Homes as three of the homes are going to close down, leaving 30 children without shelter. The CIA from Hope in Jesus Ministries came up with the idea to raise funds for these children, as they did not want to ask people for money, but rather chose to host a fun event.

The show gave children the opportunity to show off their talents while parents enjoyed a family outing and contributed to the fund-raiser.
