BLOOD donors were honoured at the Egoli East Donor for Life Awards on Saturday, March 16, at Back of the Moon, Gold Reef City.
The awards were for the donors who have donated from 25 units to over 300 units of blood.
Meredale resident Martin McIntyre (72) has donated 304 units of blood over 22 years.
“I like to donate blood. It keeps me healthy and I encourage people to do so as it saves lives. One unit of blood can save three lives, so keep donating,” he said.
Donor relations practitioner from SANBS Kamantha Pillay thanked all donors who attended the event and congratulated them on achieving their milestones.
