Glenvista High is top performing public school

The Principal Mrs de Jongh received the award on behalf of the Glenvista High for top performing public school for bachelor passes and top performing public school in the district.

THE district awards were held at Glenvista High School on February 17 to honour the Grade 12 matric achievers, educators as well as the schools.

The prestigious event was held at Jasmine Hills Country Venue.

Glenvista High School received numerous awards not only for top-achieving learners in many subjects but also for educators and the school as a learning institution.

Top mathematics and top physical science awards went to Jimmy Yuan.

TOP LEARNERS: Four of the top achievers from Glenvista High School. Jimmy Yuan, Estelle Florens, Michael Daniel and Atiso Tsotetsi.

The top geography award went to Atiso Tsotetsi, the top art award went to Michael Daniel, the top English language student was Estelle Florens, the top consumer studies award went to Siyanda Mdlalose and the top information technology award went to Darren Blackwell.

The top educators in Circuit 2 were Ms Sikic for visual art, Mr Mirenzheni for mathematical literacy, Ms Mohamed for life orientation, Mrs Mzozo for consumer studies, Mr Joubert for physical science, Mrs van Vuuren for information technology, Mrs Aikman for accounting, Mrs A Naidoo for life science, Ms Ferreira for Afrikaans first additional language and Mrs E Naidoo for English home language.

Jimmy Yaun was announced the Dux scholar for 2016.

“We are extremely proud of all learners and educators who contributed to a successful conclusion to the 2016 Grade 12 examinations,” said De Jongh.
