More police on the streets of Alberton this year
Police is committed to increased visibility and quicker reaction
CAPTAIN Mega Ndobe and Capt Manare Ramotshela, of Alberton SAPS, visited Kasie FM on Monday, January 9, to mobilise the listeners to take a stand against crime and create awareness about crime.
Listeners were encouraged to keep the momentum going by reporting any form of criminal activity in their area.
“We are grateful for the response we received from the community. Residents are reporting crime and we would like this to continue,” said Capt Ramotshele.
He added that in 2017 there will be improved police visibility.
“This year we are on the streets. We are consistently improving visibility so that when criminal activity is reported we are able to respond with ease,” he said.
Capt Ramotshele also emphasised that residents should be vigilant at all times. “If you are followed by another vehicle while driving and you feel unsafe, make sure that you call the police. Do not enter your home or place of business, rather drive to the police station.”
