Ané’s family has suffered a second tragedy after her mother’s passing on Tuesday, December 20. Anthea Jacobs (46) was suffering from a heart and lung condition and a member from SA Search and Rescue, who is investigating Ané’s murder, told the RECORD that they believed she died from a broken heart.

Her condition deteriorated and she was rushed to hospital yesterday where she passed away from what is believed to be heart and lung failure.
The memorial service will take place next week and she will be laid to rest in Boksburg in the same cemetery where Ané was buried. She will be buried on top of Anè.

No arrests have been made in connection with Anè’s murder. Ané’s murdered body was found in the veld behind the Alberton soccer fields on October 29.
