There is a WhatsApp voice note making the rounds on social media that claims that a serious storm is brewing and it is predicted to be worse than yesterday.
ER24 issued the following statement: “Please take note that ER24 did not issue any WhatsApp Voice note regarding a storm warning. The voice note was not issued by an official channel through ER24. We are in the process of determining the employment of the person that distributed the message. Please note that official weather warnings will only be issued by the South African Weather Services.”

A thunderstorm has been forecast throughout Gauteng from about 15:00 with heavy rain , hail and with wind gusting up to 80km between 16:00 and 19:00 today.
