Reunert College hosts annual awards

The Awards Ceremony is held annually to celebrate the success of students.

REUNERT College held its annual awards ceremony to celebrate the success of its students, at Thaba Eco Hotel recently.
An initiative to provide underprivileged learners the opportunity to upgrade their Grade 12 mathematics and physical science or accounting marks, the college was made a reality by the Reunert Group of Companies in 1993.
Reunert College students write the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) final exams, after they have redone mathematics, physical science or accounting as subjects. The students are also required to take additional subjects such as: workplace or life skills, computer skills, English communication skills and career guidance.
The programme is sponsored by companies, so selected learners don’t pay any fees and they’re provided with textbooks, stationary, meals and T-shirts, plus a small allowance. The aim of the programme is not only to uplift learners academically, but also to develop them as individuals.
With the two campuses – one in Boksburg and one in Alrode (Alberton) – the requirements for learners are: they must be under the age of 21; they must be a South African citizen and they must have completed their Grade 12 (with the subjects mathematics and physical science, or accounting) within the past two years (even if they didn’t pass these subjects).
