BREAKING NEWS: Local girl wins Google Science Fair

Kiara designed a project to fight drought with fruit.

ST MARTINS’ School is very proud of 16-year-old Kiara Nirghin for being the overall winner of the 2016 Google Science Fair. The awards ceremony was held last night in San Francisco, California.

Kiara attends St Martin’s School and is a resident of Meyersdal Estate. She will be arriving at OR Tambo International Airport around 16:30 tomorrow on an SAA flight and the school will be sending a welcome back and congratulatory party.

The Google Science Fair is a programme where any student between 13 and 18 is invited to solve the world’s biggest challenges through science and technology. Kiara designed a project to fight drought with fruit.
