City Of Joburg implements water restriction tariff

If residents do not abide by the water restrictions they will be fined and will be added to their municipal bill.

City Of Joburg is now introducing a water restriction tariff on domestic users effective from September 2016.

The water levels in the integrated Vaal Dam have dropped below the 60% threshold.

Rand Water have reduced their supply to Joburg by 15%. Level 2 Water Restrictions have been in place since November 2015.

JW will throttle the system in the evenings from 8pm to 4am in areas where demand is high. Throttling system means reducing the flow of water to the reservoirs.

Please do your best to save water at home, report all water leaks and bursts and they will be attended to as soon as possible.

If residents do not abide by the water restrictions they will be fined and will be added to their municipal bill.
