Ethemba to ride for charity
Ethemba Village is a programme aimed at helping specifically orphans and widows
ETHEMBA Village, an initiative of Hope In Jesus Ministries (HIJM), is planning a massive trail ride to raise funds for it’s social upliftment programme.
The J316 tour 4 Ethemba (inspired by a Bible verse), as the trail is known, is to help in funding to build houses for widows and orphans.
The tour around South Africa will be 4 500km long, representing one kilometre for every brick needed to build each house.
Thaba Trails, in the south of Johannesburg, will be the starting point, when the ride sets off at 08:00, on Sunday, September 11, with the finishing point at Ethemba Village, on Saturday, October 15.
Ethemba Village is a programme aimed at helping specifically orphans and widows, building houses, helping to place children in safe places and educate them, and to offer development programmes to help them to become successful members of society.
HIJM was started by Dr Michelé Sutherland, who has started several programmes in the community since then.
