Patrollers remembered

SATURDAY, July 23, marked exactly a year since The Hill Community Patrol’s Anthony Beste and Allan Grobler died while protecting their community.

On the day, the community of The Hill and the surrounding areas gathered at the Green House, corner Plinlimmon and Yester roads to have a memorial ceremony for the patrollers.

Natasha Stevenson from The Hill Community Patrol said July 23 was a day of remembrance for two of their fallen community heroes. “We wish to remember our two fallen heroes; Anthony and Allan, as this is the first anniversary of their death. The memories of that day will be forever in our hearts,” she said.

To honour the patrollers, the community cleaned the park around the Green House, they planted trees and plants and there was also a candle and a prayer session at the Green House.
