Lekwa Consulting Engineers gives back

Lekwa Consulting Engineers puts in 67 minutes for Mandela Day.

MANDELA Day may have been on July 18, but since it’s still Mandela Month, Lekwa Consulting Engineers decided to do their part for the 67 minutes initiative on July 22.

Lekwa visited Felicitas School in Brakpan, which is a school for the physically and intellectually challenged.

Registered in April 1976 as Felicitas Training Centre with only 35 children, the school presently has more than 465 learners, with hostels offering accommodation to 65 of those learners.

In a pledge to offer assistance to the school, the Lekwa team, led by MD Kibiti Ntshumaelo, donated new school uniforms amounting to R15 000 to 30 of the neediest learners living with autism at the Felicitas. The uniforms were handed over to the learners after a heartfelt speech given by a representative from the Lawrence Khekhe Foundation, which had partnered with Lekwa for the day.

In another Mandela Day initiative, Lekwa Consulting Engineers donated R50 000 to the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) as part of their support of people diagnosed with cancer.
