Spreading the love on Mandela Day

Pippa Jarvis, managing director of the children’s home, said the whole weekend prior to Mandela Day had companies and community members coming to the home to offer their support.

SAWIC (South African Women in Construction) and staff from Eskom visited the Love of Christ Children‘s Home in Eikenhof on Mandela Day, Monday, July 18 to do their 67 minutes.

Pippa Jarvis, managing director of the children’s home, said the whole weekend prior to Mandela Day had companies and community members coming to the home to offer their support. “It’s been amazing and we appreciate every single one of you who has come to give your love, care and help,” said Pippa.

“SAWIC members came along and renovated the toddlers’ playroom, which is looking great now,” added Pippa, “and Eskom staff assisted with putting down ash on the driveway to fill up huge potholes, odd jobs around the home, as well as helping with the babies in the baby section. It’s been such a fantastic day.”
