Cyclist critical after Glenvista collision

On assessment of the cyclist, paramedics discovered that the man had sustained numerous injuries, leaving him in a critical condition

A man, believed to be in his thirties, was left critically injured this afternoon after he was knocked off his bicycle on Amanda Road in Glenvista.

Paramedics from the ER24 Johannesburg South branch arrived on the scene and found both the cyclist and his bicycle in the middle of the the road.

A light motor vehicle had stopped off to the side of the road, roughly ten metres away from the cyclist.

On assessment of the cyclist, paramedics discovered that the man had sustained numerous injuries, leaving him in a critical condition.

Paramedics immediately began their treatment and initiated multiple advanced life support interventions.

According to ER24 Spokesperson, Russel Meiring, the patient was treated and thereafter transported under advanced life support supervision to Baragwana Hospital for urgent treatment.

The driver of the light motor vehicle was fortunate to escape injury and local authorities were on scene to conduct an investigation.
