Two suspects arrested

The detectives managed to apprehend and arrest two suspects. One suspect is still at large.

AT ABOUT 22:00 on May 20, two suspects, aged 30 and 32, were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property and possession of an unlicensed firearm by Mondeor SAPS detective officers.

Detective Sgt Comfort Nkutha, Detective Const Abram Maluleke and Detective Lazarus Rakgoale were patrolling when they spotted a silver VW Polo parked in Swartkoppies Road, Liefde en Vrede.

The two males were loading flat screen televisions into their vehicle and when the detectives approached, the suspects’ vehicle pulled away. The detectives managed to apprehend and arrest two suspects. One suspect is still at large.

It was later discovered the property was stolen in Glenvista earlier that day. The suspects appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on May 23 and are still being held in custody.
