Fast food staff members robbed at MOTS

“Due to the sensitivity of the investigation, more details cannot be disclosed at this time,” said Waldo Marcus, head of marketing for Mall of the South.

THREE staff members from Steers and Debonairs at Mall of the South, were robbed at 19:32 on Thursday evening, May 5, as they went to the storeroom in the back passage.

“Two suspects followed the staff to the storeroom, whereby they were robbed of R3 000 cash and two personal mobile phones.

“A full investigation was done and contrary to incorrect information published on public forums, security and SAPS conducted a proper investigation to ensure the safety of our shoppers and tenants before a statement was issued. We can confirm there was a firearm presented by one of the suspects.

“Due to the sensitivity of the investigation, more details cannot be disclosed at this time,” said Waldo Marcus, head of marketing for Mall of the South.

Clear footage of the suspects and the incident was obtained from the CCTV cameras. All information will be handed over to the SAPS.
