SPCA pets receive love

The SPCA need the help from the community for their outreach.

THE Alberton SPCA held an open day on Saturday, April 15 to raise awareness of its operations and its animals. According to Alberton SPCA member Lauren Martens, the main idea was to encourage the community to support the SPCA.

There were stickers and cards for sale to support Tekkie Tax Day. They also provided more information about the My Planet cards, which will also help them if people sign up for the cards.

Many people made the effort to visit the SPCA on the day. While only some of the animals got new homes, all of them received a lot of attention. Desiree Oliphant, the Mrs UN SA finalist, was the guest of honour. The SPCA thanked everyone who helped make the day a success.

Lauren added that they are in need of blankets, dog and cat food, collars and dog bowls for their outreach in May. β€œIt does not have to be brand new,” she said.

Keep an eye on their Facebook page for weekly adoptions. For more information, contact Lauren on 082 339 6330 or at 011 907 1568.
