Meat World has a winner at Comaro Crossing

“Flora is a regular customer here, coming in most days to buy something. We appreciate all our customers but it’s always great to see one of our regular customers being a winner,” Jorge added.

EXCITEMENT was abuzz at Meat World Comaro Crossing, Oakdene where 20 finalists were expected to gather to see who would be the lucky winner of a brand new car.

“Customers who spent R100 or more in-store could enter the draw and on April 1 we drew out 20 names and phoned the finalists. Some thought it was an April Fool’s prank,” laughed Jorge Martins, co-owner of Meat World Comaro Crossing.

On Saturday, April 2, the finalists’ names were called out to see if they were all at the Meat World store. One gentleman was running slightly late but made it just in time. One other finalist couldn’t make the draw so the final number was 19.

After the 19 finalists were confirmed to be present, each of them received a voucher for R200 to spend in-store and one of the children in the crowd drew out 10 of the 19 names. These 10 finalists went through to the grand final.

As tension mounted 10 little black boxes tied with ribbon were put on the prize car’s bonnet and each of the 10 finalists chose a box. In each box was a wooden key with only one having winner written on it. All the finalists opened their boxes together and a cry of joy could be heard as Flora Da Cruz shouted, “I have the winning key!”

“Flora is a regular customer here, coming in most days to buy something. We appreciate all our customers but it’s always great to see one of our regular customers being a winner,” Jorge added.

“I can’t believe I’m the winner,” said a visibly shaken, but thrilled Flora. “Thank you Meat World!”
