THE COMARO Chronicle visited the Glenvista Shopping Centre this past week to ask shoppers for their view on Easter and what it means to them. Here are some responses:
Delyse Abrahams:
“Easter is a very religious time of the year for me. It is a time of rebirth as I almost lost my life five years ago during this time. I will be enjoying my Easter with my two grandchildren, my children and their spouses. I would like to wish everyone a very happy Easter and urge people to be safe on the roads.”
Ayanda Nyaqela:
“To me Easter is about celebrating Jesus and His resurrection. It’s also about having lots of Easter eggs for the whole family and that’s what the day is about, appreciating family and spending time around people you love.”
Reverend Princess Etho from Christian Entrepreneurs Ministry International:
“This time of the year is about reflecting what Christ did for us on the cross of Calvary. He paid the price on the cross for the atonement of our sins. It is our duty to live a Christ-like life and restore His glory on the earth. My plan is to share this knowledge with the community and teach people how to live a Godly life.”
Rosalind Roe from Bush Church:
“The Easter season means that God died for us and He forgives our sins. This time is not about Easter eggs and hot cross buns but it is about Jesus who saved us. Therefore, I will be spending Easter celebrating His life in praise and worship.”
Anita Jacobs from the Touch of Care (TOC) non-profit organisation:
“Easter is an important time of the year and we celebrate the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and what He sacrificed for us. It is a spiritual time for my family and I. TOC often receives much support at this time of the year and the community is welcome to contribute to TOC in the form of food.
