R80k drug bust in Linmeyer

One of the largest drug busts at a townhouse complex in Linmeyer led to the confiscation of R80 000 worth of drugs.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Drugs worth R80 000 were confiscated during a drug bust at a townhouse complex in Linmeyer on November 17. The confiscated drugs included cat, crystal meth, nyaope and marijuana.

Thanks to a tip off from members of the community, the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) K9 Unit and the Moffatview SAPS arrested three suspects at the Linridge townhouse complex.

“Members of the JMPD K9 Unit and Moffatview SAPS arrested three men for the possession of drugs that consisted mainly of rocks, dagga and CAT,” said JMPD Superintendent, Wayne Minnaar.

Cellphones and R474 in cash were also found at the scene.

Constable Rebecca Bila of the Moffatview SAPS confirmed that Moffatview SAPS led by Warrant Officer Arthur Bock made the arrests and charged the suspects with the possession and dealing of illegal drugs.
