KIBLER PARK – “This has been a magnificent flower show and we are over the moon to have 310 entries, the best ever,” said Maud Pickup, chairman of the club.
Entries of cut flowers, plants, floral arrangements, herbs, orchids, jams and preserves, to name but a few, were put into the show with Anne Du Plessis (1st), Lina Jones (2nd) and Jenny Richardson (3rd) walking away as winners. Anne Helmrich won Best of Show with her magnificent orchids.
“We’ve also had a fantastic response from the public this year and we are hoping our Spring and Autumn Flower Shows are going to become annual events which the public flock to. If this year’s show is anything to go by, next year should see us growing in both exhibits and the public coming to view the shows. Thank you to all those in the club who assisted with the show. A lot of hard work went in to it and for this I’m very grateful,” added a delighted Maud.
