Victim shaken: Robber strikes in Glenvista

Robbers ransack bedroom and steal items of value while woman is locked in toilet.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – A domestic worker was cornered on Wednesday, September 9, by an undisclosed number of suspects during a house robbery in Flavia Street, Glenvista.

“This is the first time something like this has happened to us. Our domestic worker was at home when the robbery happened. Our neighbour called us to let us know that there had been a robbery and our domestic had been attacked,” said the home owner, Nalini Naicker.

Naicker said the robber ransacked her bedroom and stole several valuable items. Their domestic worker was left shaken although she managed to alert the neighbour that the home had just been robbed.

Mondeor SAPS Communications Officer, Constable Elizabeth Mnguni said, “On September 9 at about 08:00 the domestic worker was accosted by one male outside and he locked her in the toilet. A safe and television were taken. The victim didn’t see any getaway car. Police are still investigating and no arrests have been made yet.”

The neighbour reportedly saw a white Toyota Corolla at the bottom of Comaro Street and saw the same vehicle parked outside the Naicker residence.
