Members keep busy at Eikenhof WI

Eikenhof Women’s Institute members enjoyed a “demonstration” morning on Wednesday September 9 with guest speaker Janine Tumiel, owner of Go Stamp Crazy.

SUIDEROORD – “As our budgets are stretched each month, we have to cut back where we can and making greetings cards to give and send to family and friends is a great way of saving money,” Janine said. “Buy plain white board and coloured board to make the actual card, using any pieces of gift wrap you may have kept to decorate, as well as bits of lace and buttons. Or buy packets of decorative items which are ready cut to decorate your cards. Wood glue is perfect to stick the items onto the board.”

Janine demonstrated how easy it is to make a greetings card and members were enthusiastic about giving it a go. Janine has a demo day each month, phone 011 943 1608/ 072 430 9031 for more information.

Herb containers

The next demo showed how easy it is to make a planter for herbs. Take a two litre plastic bottle and either cut out a section out from the side or cut the bottle in half and use the bottom half as a planter. Make sure to pierce a few small holes in the bottoms of each planter.
