MULBARTON – Arthur Tannous and his wife, Charlotte, owners of Centro Pharmacy, Rosettenville and Pick n Pay Pharmacy, Panorma Shopping Centre, Mulbarton, recently visited the Children of Fire home in Auckland Park, Johannesburg.
On behalf of Frontshop Pharmacy Magazine, Arthur and Charlotte spent time with the children, Arthur educating them on medicine and the importance and dangers of the correct dosages and Charlotte treating the children with notebooks, pens, balloons and sweets.
Arthur taught the children about the difference between capsules, tablets and syrups and why they should always finish a course of antibiotics as well as knowing the difference between tablets and sweets.
Some of the children practiced filling out a prescription by counting Smarties, putting them into a medicine container and then writing out the label the way a pharmacist would.
“It was an extremely rewarding morning and to be honest, I think I got just as much out of it as the children did,” said Arthur.
