World rabies day – bring your pet to AACL

Rabies is a disease that affects the brain and leads to the death of the person or animal affected.

REGENTS PARK – Symptoms include changes in the pet’s behaviour, aggression, salivation and paralysis. It is spread through the saliva of a rabid animal by licking sores or by biting.

It is a legal requirement in terms of the Animal Diseases Act, 1984, to vaccinate all dogs and cats between the age of three and seven months, then twelve months later, then every three years against Rabies in South Africa.

Celebrate World Rabies Day with Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) on Monday September 28.

Bring your healthy pet over three months of age, for a free rabies vaccination between 10:00 and 15:00 to 59 Alice Street, Regents Park.

This is open to all hospital clients and the general public.

Please note that no consulting will take place and only the rabies vaccination will be administered if the pet is healthy. Booster vaccinations will be required twelve months later, which will be at your cost at your own veterinarian, unless you are an existing hospital client.
