Commonwealth Pageant set to enchant at Gold Reef City

Traditionally, a beauty pageant is a competition which focuses on the physical beauty of its contestants.

THE spectacular 2015 crowning gala of Miss Teen, Miss, Mrs and Mr Commonwealth SA will take place at The Lyric, Gold Reef City, on Saturday, September 12.

Traditionally, a beauty pageant is a competition which focuses on the physical beauty of its contestants. However, most contests have evolved to also incorporate personality, intelligence and talent.

Commonwealth Pageants South Africa aims to do more than this. The goal is to empower women and men of all ages and provide a platform to bring about sustainable change within South Africa and the broader international community.

This year, a total of 53 entrants embarked on a six month journey in an effort to determine who the finalists would be. Ultimately, the winners of this year’s Commonwealth Pageant will become charity ambassadors and take part in projects that focus primarily on social upliftment.

The pageant also creates a platform for finalists and titleholders to achieve their own aspirations within the pageant as well as entertainment and business industries. The newly crowned winners can look forward to representing South Africa at the Commonwealth International Pageants in London, in November.

The glittering grand finale at The Lyric will be hosted by popular Kyknet presenter, Nadia Beukes, with stunning performances by the talented and well-known theatre actress and singer, Samantha Peo.

Gareth Kaschula, marketing manager at Gold Reef City, said: “Commonwealth Pageants is an international organisation renowned for their involvement in community support and social upliftment. Gold Reef City is proud to partner with Commonwealth Pageants and honoured to host this event. We anticipate a sell-out show and encourage guests to get their tickets fast.”

Tickets are available from Computicket and Gold Reef City’s Box Office at R350 per person.
