MULBARTON – A woman at the scene said the driver of the one vehicle was five months pregnant but she was conscious. She was taken to Netcare Union Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the other vehicle, who is a staff member at Netcare Mulbarton Hospital, was taken to the same hospital for treatment. The CHRONICLE spoke to the matron of the hospital, Maureen Khoza, who said, “Our staff member was taken to casualty and is doing well. She will be going home later today.”
“This intersection has seen so many accidents and every couple of weeks there’s another. The speed limit was brought down to 80kms/h on Kliprivier Drive but still some drivers far exceed this,” said a woman at the accident scene.
JMPD, ER24 and other EMS were on the scene of the accident. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
