The report by eNCA stated, “The parole of Pistorius, convicted of killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, has been suspended.”
According to the ministry, Adv Michael Masutha received a petition on Monday from the Progressive Women’s’ Movement of South Africa (PWMSA), wherein they expressed their opposition to the imminent release of Pistorius.

The group asked the minister not to approve his release due to the parole board’s insensitivity to release Pistorius during women’s month.
In the statement, Minister Masutha said he had to satisfy himself that the correctional supervision and parole board decision and the process followed was in compliance with the law, regardless that the petition to release Pistorius could not be legally sustained.
