Art appreciators invited to view novel pieces

The exhibition will open on Friday August 21 at 19:00 and run until Sunday August 30, opening daily from 10:00 to 16:30.

MELVILLE – Marina Blight and Dalila Filipe de Matos, who lives in Linmeyer, are pleased to announce that they will be having an art exhibition at Upstairs @ Bamboo, 53 Rustenburg Road, Melville.

During their careers, Marina and Dalila have participated in various exhibitions and have shown their work at various galleries throughout South Africa.  As in the past, they have teamed up again and are now presenting their Duo (L) Perceptions Exhibition at this celebrated contemporary space.

Marina Blight was fortunate to be mentored by one of South Africa’s most respected art curators.  Under his guidance, her style has evolved and now meticulously reflects the tranquillity of expansive landscapes, emotive ocean scenes and works that reveal glimpses of her inner peace with life.  Her works hang on the walls of corporate and individual collections as well as being decorative pieces in many homes in South Africa and abroad.

Dalila de Matos’s work reflects both her interest in the structure and design of a piece as well as the emotions it inspires. Her landscapes reflect a contemporary preoccupation with the canvas surface but without any loss of emotional meaning or visual appeal. The charcoal pieces reflect the hidden strengths in ordinary people and show her regard for mark-making and tonal contrasts. Her works have been sold both locally and abroad and hang in both private and public collections.

The artists will emphasise their versatility using varied mediums to create art pieces under the theme Duo (L)  Perceptions, the exhibition will therefore have something for most art lovers, from landscapes to collage, mixed media to portraiture.

The artists invite the public to visit their websites as well as their pages on South African Artists.com
