The Barnyard stands behind Marlene’s Kilimanjaro dream

To reach Malene Wilson's dream of climbing Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Breast Health, the proceeds of the Bonfire Hearts show on July 18 at Emperors Palace will go towards her project.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Marlene Wilson’s plan to climb Kilimanjaro, as part of a fundraising effort for the Breast Health Foundation, is well underway,

In an effort to make this dream a reality, the proceeds of the Bonfire Hearts show, on July 18, at the Barnyard Theatre, Emperors Palace, will go towards her project.

As a breast cancer survivor, the Kilimanjaro attempt has a personal connotation for Marlene. What makes this challenge even more extraordinary is the fact that Marlene is blind and will be aided by her goddaughter, Jolene Letley.

In order to make her journey a success and enable her to touch the lives of other cancer survivors, 69-year-old Marlene needs to raise at least R35 000.

If you have a passion for this cause, buy a ticket for R140 to the Bonfire Hearts show. Doors open at 18:30 and the show begins at 20:00. The show pays tribute to some of the greatest songwriters of all time, including Sting, Rod Stewart, Neil Diamond, James Blunt and more.

You are welcome to bring your own munchies or you can buy food at the venue.
