Businessman is murdered for nothing

He was murdered in cold blood yet the assailants left without taking anything for their efforts

OAKDENE – The murder of a prominent businessman, Larenzo Lima, of Linmeyer, sent shock waves through the community.

He was killed on his business premises, on June 9. A close family friend, Tony Cordosa, who was like a brother to the deceased, said Lima and his wife arrived at the premises at about 05:45. Two unidentified assailants confronted the victim, who was parking the vehicle while his wife was inside, unlocking the doors.

The victim was shot twice, once in the head and again in his chest. The shot to the chest resulted in his death.

Both assailants fled on foot, without taking anything from the victim or the premises.

Describing Lima, Cordosa said: “He was a good man who only helped people. He was a prominent man and every time he came out people would always come to him.”

The funeral was held on June 12 and the victim leaves behind his wife and two adopted children.

“We are urging people to come forward with any information that could lead to an arrest and they will be rewarded,” said Cordosa.
