Terrible accident changes teenagers life forever

A misfortune brought a young man’s goals of finishing his matric year to a screeching halt

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – It’s going on five months now since young Ashton Basson was due to write the last two exams in his matric finals before he could go on to make his dreams of being a medical doctor a reality.

But all that was taken away from him as a result of a car accident that left half of his body paralyzed.

On November 22, 2014, Ashton was involved in a car accident near the Meyersdal Eco Estate.

The vehicle Ashton was driving was a complete wreck.

According to his sister, Nikita Basson, young Ashton lost the use of his speech, the use of one side of his body and one of his lungs was punctured in the accident.

Now, moving forward, the family are planning to host a soccer event to raise funds for the wheelchair.
