Public invited to IAW documentary screening

'The Village Under the Forest' will be screened on Saturday March 7 at Mondeor Primary.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – The public is invited to the screening of a documentary, The Village Under the Forest, on Saturday, March 7 at 15:00 at Mondeor Primary School, on the corner of Cadogan and Ormonde drives, Mondeor.

The Village Under the Forest explores the hidden remains of the destroyed Palestinian village of Lubya, which lies under a purposefully cultivated forest plantation called the South Africa Forest.

A panel discussion will follow the screening of the documentary, as well as the broader topic of Israeli apartheid.

The event forms part of activities for Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW), which is an international series of events that seeks to raise awareness about Israel’s apartheid policies towards Palestinians, and is hosted by the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation and the Palestine Solidarity Alliance.
