Power cuts for over 60 South areas

South residents should brace themselves for stage 2 power cuts.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – On December 8, @Eskom_SA tweeted a warning that Stage two load shedding would commence at 09:00 due to a further plant deterioration of a plant. This came after an announcement by Johannesburg City Power on December 7, notifying residents in 60 areas in the South of power cuts.

“Eskom will continue #LoadShedding in stage 2 till 22:00 due to machines not returning to service as expected. We urge consumers to use electricity sparingly at all times, read the tweets by @Eskom_SA.”

The public announcement by City Power listed Aspen Hills, Bassonia, Roseacre, Ridgeway South, Glenanda, Klipriviersberg, Tulisa Park, Mulbarton and Oakdene amoung other areas as those that would be affected should power outages go ahead.

According to @Eskom_SA there have been a number of hoaxes being circulated which they allege provided inaccurate information, confusion and unnecessary panic. They stated that they were aware of the issue.
