JOHANNESBURG – This year the Chevrolet Ute Force became part of the action in Gauteng. The team assisted the organisers in setting up and breaking down the venue where bikers converged to deliver their toys. From here the Chevrolet Ute Force transported toys to children’s homes and orphanages during the week following the biker rally.
Partnering with 1in1out, a non-profit organization, Chevrolet further donated toys to four institutions, which included the settlement in Kya Sands, where over 1 000 families’ homes were recently burnt to the ground. They then visited the disabled children at Tumelo Home in Ivory Park, as well as an informal settlement in Krugersdorp.
According to Tim Hendon, Chevrolet Brand Manager, this is one of a number of initiatives the Chevrolet Ute Force is involved with. “This year alone we have touched the lives of thousands of children and countless communities across the country, working in partnership with credible organisations that have a strong footprint in the community,” said Hendon.
Bridgette Bolton, project manager for the Chevrolet Ute Force echoed Hendon’s sentiments. She said that supporting well-organized, sustainable initiatives is a major part of the strategy behind the Ute Force. “If we can help an organization or a cause that is fundamentally about children and community, we will. And what better than a toy for a child for Christmas?”
