Mrs South Africa set to take on the world

Sarah-Kate Scott, the reigning Mrs South Africa, has quickly captured the hearts of the South African public and media since her crowning two months ago.

Sarah-Kate Scott, the reigning Mrs South Africa, has quickly captured the hearts of the South African public and media since her crowning two months ago at Emperors Palace. She is now set to take on the world and the globe as she attends not one, but two international pageants during the month of November.

Sarah-Kate will be attending the Mrs World Pageant in the United Sates from November 8 to 20, culminating in the grand finale crowning event happening on November 19 in Solomans Island, Maryland, and is already a firm favourite for the crown. She will be competing with 60 other delegates from all over the world.

Sarah-Kate will be home for less than a week before jetting off to China to take part at Mrs Globe on November 27 which will take place in Shenzhen in China on December 6.

Sarah-Kate says she is thankful for the opportunities the Mrs South Africa (Pty) Ltd has given her to represent her country abroad, and acknowledges that it would not be possible without the support of her husband, Darren Scott, who remains in South Africa to look after their ‘babies’. Says Sarah-Kate, “through our experiences, Darren and I have come to realise that life is short and that it is important to grab hold of opportunities that come our way. Darren and I are committed to each other’s dreams and to raising funds and awareness for childhood cancer through our support of the CANSA association of South Africa and Cupcakes for Kids with Cancer initiative.”

They are a couple with a passion to help where they can, a power couple who appreciates the importance of personal growth and approach life united and lovingly, working towards securing a legacy their children and indeed all South Africans can be proud of.

As an organisation, Mrs South Africa has identified the most prestigious of the Mrs Competitions around the world, and strive every year to send the reigning Mrs South Africa to an international competition with clout and gravitas. Due to the unusual timing of this year’s pageants, Sarah-Kate will be attending two international events in short succession of one another.

The confidence in Mrs Scott to bring home the Mrs World title is so strong that the organisers already have first princess Riana Mooi waiting in the wings to attend Mrs Globe in China, should Sarah-Kate win the Mrs World Title. Joani Johnson says: “At Mrs South Africa we pride ourselves on a high standard of participants and have confidence in our runners-up to shine on the international stage and indeed even bring home a title.”

Intense preparation has been made for both competitions with the best in the industry coming out in support. The designers have been carefully chosen to deliver gowns best suited to each pageant, with the talented Anel Botha with her feminine designs designing Sarah Kate’s Mrs World Dress. This draped Grecian-inspired evening gown has beaded detail to create a curvy silhouette with it’s multi-layered slit and open back. This dress consists of silky chiffon, satin chiffon and beaded net.

Michael Bezuidenhout has lent his talents to the Mrs Globe gown. The colour chosen by Sarah-Kate is a beautiful ombré, hand-dyed with the colour graduating from a light to dark. The dress is adorned with Swarovski crystals in exquisite hand-embroidered detail, which is designed to give the effect of a mermaid emerging from the water.

New comers and great supporters of the pageant ‘Fearlessly Fashionable’ and proudly South Africa Fleaq’s traditional gown is a rainbow of vibrant colour incorporating South Africa’s national flower, the Protea, is guaranteed to attract attention.
