GLENVISTA – The Comaro CHRONICLE heard from a reliable source that a school is going up and contacted Clr Smit, who said he had, at a late hour, been invited to a meeting at Mulbarton Primary School on Friday October 31, which took place at 13:00.
“School principals and governing body members were present. I couldn’t stay for the entire meeting due to another commitment. Although we need more schools in the area, I am not in favour of the structure of this proposed school for Glenvista. The plans being allegedly used are those of a rural school in KwaZulu Natal. These buildings will not fit into a wealthy suburb, such as Glenvista where homes sell upwards of over R1 million,” he said.
“I question why no public participation was called for? A public meeting should have been advertised well in advance so residents of the area could have voiced their opinions. I repeat again, I’m not in favour of this structure,” he added.
Information is sketchy at this point but we will keep our readers updated.
