LINMEYER – Bad influence: A Nigerian drug dealer living at a brothel with a 15-year-old girl is allegedly known to the girl’s mother as the teenager’s boyfriend.
Another brothel and drug lair has come to light, this time due to a Nigerian man who was allegedly keeping a young girl against her will.
However, shocking new information on the alleged kidnapping was discovered when the Moffatview SAPS Drug Squad raided the brothel at 86 Lang Street in Linmeyer. This raid was as a result of enquiries by the CHRONICLE to Moffatview SAPS Communications Officer Constable Bila.
Questions included whether Moffatview police officers were aware that a 15-year-old girl, who is believed to have a drug problem, was being kept at the alleged brothel at 86 Lang Street in Linmeyer.
It is suspected by Linmeyer CPF and residents that the girl was kidnapped after she failed to pay for a drug tab she had accumulated with the Nigerian.
Also, if the Moffatview SAPS had followed up on claims by residents that a fully fledged brothel and drug den was operating only a few blocks away from another drug lair, reported on by the CHRONICLE on October 22, at a overtaken property on South Rand Road and Martha Street.
According to Constable Bila, she organised with the Drug Squad to raid the property on Lang Street. Bila reported that there were numerous arrests made during the raid, but she was uncertain whether they were related to illegal drugs or prostitution.
“Yes, the SAPS is aware that it’s a drug house (86 Lang Street). Arrests have been made in the past and recently, when they raided the house,” confirmed Bila. However, the drug problem persists.
Constable Bila revealed that officers had a special aim to find the young girl and remove her from the Nigerian’s possession, but she was gone.
The SAPS officers found out that the teenager and the Nigerian ran away when police arrived at the residence. It was also discovered that the Nigerian man is supposedly the underage girl’s boyfriend.
Police followed up on a lead about their whereabouts, and traced their trail back to the girl’s mother’s house. According to Constable Bila, the girl’s mother confirmed with police officers that the Nigerian man was in fact the underage girl’s boyfriend and she was aware of their so-called relationship.
The mother refuted allegations that the 15-year-old was kidnapped, saying that the troubled girl was staying at the brothel willingly with her man.
We are going to have to address and reverse this Nigerian problem. It will not go away. It will grow.
